‘Major wreck’ shuts down westbound US-79 in Round Rock


ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — A “major wreck” is shutting down the westbound lanes along a busy stretch of U.S. Hwy. 79, according to Round Rock police.

Police posted on Twitter that the crash happened Monday afternoon on the highway, known locally as Palm Valley Boulevard, just west of A.W. Grimes Boulevard in front of the H-E-B plus! store.

Officers are asking drivers to avoid the area and find other ways around it.
